Inglourious Basterds - thought it was really good actually - think typical Tarantino in a second world war setting and you won’t be far out. Some classic scenes and better than some of his other films. Not in the same league as Pulp Fiction though, but then you probably knew that already
pans labyrinth - freaking AWESOME film, can’t believe it’s taken us so long to getting round to watching it!!
man on wire - really good docu-film, not the greatest end tho, almost too much ‘filler’ not enough ‘walk’
belleville rendezvous - not sure wether to describe this as cute or horrific - probably about half way between the two. random plot, uuuuuugly animation, but v. enjoyable way to waste a couple of hours! (don’t be put of by the fact it’s in french - about 2 words get spoken in the whole film!!)
Hmm… just watched La Cabina and I don’t share the same opinions… I didn’t find it terrifying at all and I can sometimes be claustrophobic!! Lol. I was just waiting for something to happen.. and it didn’t really.
Didn’t you suffer watching the poor man trapped in the telephone booth? That’s because you must me a hardcore horror enthusiast
Seriously, the pathetic and strange situation and the inevitable ending is rather unnerving and scary for me. I love psychological horror.
Last I watched:
‘Six Feet Under’ - Season 4 & 5
‘The Sopranos’ - Season 2
‘Dexter’ - Season 4 first episode premiere
‘Death At A Funeral’ - Entertaining
‘The Philadelphia Experiment’ - A bit old-fashioned, nowadays
‘The Haunting In Connecticut’ - Boring
‘The Children’ - Nice and eerie surprise
‘Close Encounters Of The Third Kind’
‘The Usual Suspects’
‘2001: A Space Odissey’
‘Slumdog Millionaire’
‘Into The Wild’
And a nice surprise…
‘The Good, The Bad, The Weird’ - A funny, spectacular, fresh and entertaining mix full of adventure, comedy, action and western with that special South Korean touch in it (those who have seen ‘Oldboy’, ‘The Chaser’, ‘I’m A Cyborg But It’s OK’, ‘Sympathy For Lady Vengeance’... will understand me).
Maybe they don’t measure up to movies like ‘2001: A Space Odissey’, ‘Alien’ or ‘Outland’ but both are great movies and they’re a breath of fresh air into the science-fiction world: adult, brainy and imaginative films. For those who are tired of childish, stupid and noisy ‘movies’ like ‘Transformers’.
‘Terminator Salvation’ - disappointment
‘Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb’
‘Zombieland’ - entertaining and well-made horror comedy: Woody Harrelson killing zombies as his best
‘Trick ‘r Treat’ - a very nice surprise. A great horror comedy about Halloween. It’s like a fun 80’s movie, some kind of mix between ‘Creepshow’, ‘The Monster Squad’ and ‘The Twilight Zone’. Definitely, a must-see.
