OK, I’ll go first.
I discovered them in may 2005. It was when Exits was released. I was shopping in a French music store. In the background there was some music, and especially one I didn’t know anything about. I asked a girl from the shop, and she told me that she put the cd Exits on because she felt it was increddible. I listened a bit more ... and immediatly bought the cd. As I live 50 miles far from that store, I had enough time to listened in my car to the whole cd before being home… and enough time to fall in love with almost every song of the album.
So just a word : Thanks guys for that ... and keep going !!!

Hallo -
nice thread topic!! I went to the Editors concert in Berlin in November 2007 and was fascinated by the second supporting band, whose name, I have to admit, I didn’t even know at that point. I After that, I looked them up online and found Exits on last.fm and have since been to see them again at the cool little gig in Berlin earlier this year. I soooo hope that the second album will come out soon and that more people discover TBR’s music! grin

It was 2005…I got a free HMV playlist cd which had a TBR track on (i’ve forgotten which one now…oooops). I loved it and went and bought the album the next time i was in town and it was amaaaazing. Not a bad track on it, which is pretty good considering it was one of my impulse buys. :D

Was collecting bands for FUSE and was standing next to Bloc Party (ooo name drop) when they came on (after a long time soundchecking things) and they blew me away.
Was in the days of Boxer Rebellion colour.
Addicted ever since. Horrah!

September 2003
A friend of mine at Uni said “check out this band called The Boxer Rebellion. You like The Coopers (Temple Clause), so youll like them”
Later that day I downloaded an early version on Watermelon.
Suffice to say, she was right.

And I havent looked back since.

Done.

I saw them supporting A Perfect Circle and was amazed but didn’t catch thier name. We then saw TBR supporting The Rasmus and this time did catch their name :D Became hooked and been to almost every London show ever since.

I’m one of those have known them thanks to Editors…..smile last november in Bologna.
I don’t really like to listent to supporting band, and I did’t know that there was TWO supporting bands that evening
since “our” JoyCut havent told us about it….
but I loved their Music immediately.
I started to go around looking for their cd…..but nobody knows them in the shops here in Pisa…..
( it’s difficult to love english bands here….in a shop they ask me if editors are a metal band….:O )
than I found it on lastfm and I discovered this (great) forum smile

I just saw the 20 page thread on them @ editorsoffical and thought these guys must be good. And what do you know, they are. I went to thier Myspace, so the first song I heard was Flashing Red Light but the first that really got me into them was Watermelon. Pretty lame story I know but at least I know and love TBR now.

My brother in law introduced me to TBR about 3 or 4 years ago when he saw you guys play in Bristol and you gave and signed the EP for him. I then saw you for the first time in Bristol later that year, with the Ravenettes and Dogs, and have been a fan ever since. Saw you in Camden a year or so ago, and in Brighton on the Bar-fly tour early 2008. As with everyone else (plus half the guys in my office who I’ve introduced your music to) we can’t wait for the second album -please, please can we have any updates on a release - plus will any older b-sides and unreleased recordings be made available on a hard copy format for purchase? Regards, Andrew.

Copy & paste:

“I think it’s the time I first heard about them (Paradiso gig/‘In Pursuit’ single release… March 2004)… I read an ‘In Pursuit’ single review in an import British music magazine and I liked what they said about their music… I felt the good vibe. I checked their website (they had the Paradiso show uploaded to listen to) and… well, that was my best decision, no doubt. TBR love has grown since then”

A b-side compilation on a proper CD would be a great idea (gems as ‘The Rescue’, ‘You And I’, etc. deserve it) but as Chantal pointed out above, I don’t need much to be happy right now… ‘just’ the 2nd album in my hands! lol.
