Editors + The Maccabees + Wintersleep @ Palacio Vistalegre (09/12/09, Madrid)

Fucking lame show. I’m not blaming Editors for it (they did a great performance, full of passion and energy), just the silly promoters and the venue. They had to play at La Riviera (nice place) just like the last time they came to Madrid, but 15 days before the show the promoters decided to upgrade the show just to sell some more tickets (it wasn’t even sold out at first!). And they picked a venue with horrible acoustics which isn’t ready to host live shows (it’s the place where Real Madrid basketball team usually plays): everything sounded like putting your head underwater, with a lot of echo. And they even have to stop the show for 10 minutes because the right loudspeakers broke down.

So this is a warning for The Boxer Rebellion: if you come back to play in Madrid again, please avoid Vistalegre at all costs! XD

Biffy Clyro + Blakfish (they split the band the day before) + Nothink @ Penelope (13/02/09, Madrid)

Despite the setlist (no songs from ‘Blackened Sky’ and ‘The Vertigo Of Bliss’ and 7 songs shorter than the December tour) it was a blast. Excellent. A funny and entertaining party. The guys give everything on stage, no doubt.

Jesus Deluxe & The Pockets at Inspire, Coventry 02/05/2010.

Jesus Deluxe are destined for greatness. The best set I’ve heard this year of the 52 gigs I’ve been to. 4th time I’ve seen them now and they keep improving every time.

They’re supporting Exit Calm at their album launch on May 19th @ The Buffalo Bar in Islington. I highly recommend this gig

The Pockets are also a very fine live band too.

Excellent show with two great bands: powerful and epic.
