The drumming on Union

Does anyone else think the drumming on Union is amazing ? Obviously the drums stand out on FRLMG, but they’re also brilliant on tracks like Soviets, Silent Movie, Move On, etc. In fact Piers’s talent with the sticks is all over this album.

It’s alright I’m not a relation or anything, just think Piers is up there with the best drummers around at the moment, like the guys in Bloc Party and the Arctic Monkeys, and he deserves some recognition !

List of all non-album tracks

Looking at other threads on here over the last couple of months, I’ve created a list of all TBR’s non-album tracks, in what I think is roughly chronological order. Now I realise this is all a bit anal, but I thought it might help TBR fans, especially the ones who’ve heard Union and Exits and want to find out about their other stuff - all of which is brilliant. Please note the first eight tracks are by the guys’ previous band.

Paper Airplane
Kiss The Girls
Light Bulb
This Week’s Love Song
Lens
Red Leader
Tempting *
Satellite *

Caution *
Heart Attack *
Palisade *
You & I (In Decline) *
The Rescue
In The Empire
In Pursuit
Outerspace
Empty
Code Red
Before Tomorrow
Don’t Drag Your Dirty Feet
Broken Glass
JFKFC
Waiting
Murder Ballad *

The above are all the studio recorded songs (songs with a * haven’t been officially released yet though). A lot of the studio tracks are either early singles, b-sides, or songs that were previously made available for download on the band’s Myspace site.

There are also a few others that have only been heard live - From The Liars, Leaves, Den Of Thieves, The Opening, Mirrors, Winter Of 69/70, etc - some of these I’ve not heard myself though.

Finally, if you check out Nathan’s and Todd’s Myspace pages you’ll find some solo tracks too.

It’s a cliche, but someone once said that you can tell a great band by the quality of their b-sides and the songs they leave off their albums. Well, the above songs are evidence that TBR are one of the few bands that this statement truly applies to.

Im back.

Havent visited this place in well over 6 months.
Ive even forgotten everyone who uses this thing.

Well looking forward to LP3
So much so that I have been trying to decipher the writing on the front of the master disks from that picture taken a while ago in the blog. Sad i know but ive got a spare 10 mins.
Can only make out “The Boxer Rebellion” at the top and
“L<something> of the B<something>” which I can only guess is a song title.

Pretty pointless really!!!

Anyway…...hello everyone!

EDIT: when’s this Fortress Live guff coming out? Its been coming soon for a while from what I can tell.

Hey everyone!

As you know, TBR are playing SXSW next month.

I recently launched an album ‘Southwest of Never’, which the band kindly donated a track to, featuring bands appearing at SXSW showcases - with all profits going to The Institute of Cancer Research (http://www.icr.ac.uk). If you would like to support us and buy a copy (priced at £5), you can go here:
