PIers’ Blog: US Tour Video & Gallery

We’re back home now, extremely tired, but for the most part very happy tired! As it always is, it was a pleasure to get out there and meet people again – the people that keep this boat not only afloat but sailing.

There were a few events which made this tour difficult. We had our first van break in, our first (huge) nail-in-tyre and bizarrely… there was the much documented Santa Monica shootings that, crazily, we were a part of. The events of that day will never leave us, and certainly serves to make us appreciate everything that lies in front of us. Our hearts still go out to anyone affected by that day, and that includes our very special friends at KCRW.

It was fantastic to get the new album out on the road and to see the excitement in peoples’ faces. For those who saw us over the last 5 weeks, we salute you, and to those who are yet to see us on our European tour, we can’t wait to share these new songs with you.

To see it for yourself click here to view our US tour video on Youtube or check out our photo gallery on Facebook.

We enjoyed your company immensely, and the stories on what our music means for fans never cease to humble me.

Piers’ Blog. Album out now. Google Hangout time…

Finally, we have arrived. The birthing of another Boxer baby today is the day ‘Promises’ wormed it’s way out there. It’s been great hearing about people’s anticipation and enjoyment at the release of all this. Trust me it’s even more exciting for us and we’re so pleased so many people are loving it. The album has been out there for a couple of weeks for streaming, which is great – the more people can hear this album the better – we’ve put the album on Youtube for those who wish to give it another spin.

On top of all that, because we feel like it, we’re going to host a Google Hangout to answer questions about the album, and have a hang out with you guys, of sorts, tomorrow on Wednesday. Ask us anything you like (within reason!), and we’ll get involved online and answer you. Just email us @ theboxerrebellion@gmail.com or ask a question on Twitter using the hashtag @boxerhangout. We’re also picking a few of you to participate on the Hangout which will be streamed via Youtube.

And in case you’d forgotten, which I’m sure you hadn’t, we are going to be out and about a lot this year with gigs, so get yourself to the website and check out our tour dates. We’d love you to spend an evening with us. Our tour in Canada and America starts NEXT WEEK! We are really looking forward to these, and seeing loads of you there.

Thank you for being involved thus far. Keep doing what you’re doing with the album.

Buy it, listen to it, share it and let’s see if we can chart it.

Happy Tuesday.

Piers’ Blog. Listen to Promises at KCRW

After spending such a long time writing, recording demos, changing chords, rhythms, lyrics, take after take trying to get it right, nothing really beats the feeling of finally being able to put your music out there. Although it is obviously not quite released yet, we will now be streaming the record on KCRW prior to the record properly coming out next week. So get yourselves to the site and take a listen!

I wouldn’t say I have ever been nervous about people getting to hear this record, but there is always a strange anticipation to knowing lots of people are about to hear. Whilst it is amazing to see it streamed in such major places, I think every music fan knows it goes without saying that, particularly in our state of independence, record sales are still very important to us and the charting powers-that-be. So once you’ve had your fill of the new album, make sure you pre-order it too. There should be a sense of achievement with band and fans alike on this album, wherever it charts, so you know what to do to see it as high as possible.

Additional European dates have been trickling in, which is exciting, particularly because this time we are able to visit places we haven’t been to for ages (It IS our intention to visit other places in the UK too, we promise). Thank you for those that have already bought tickets to those shows. Also, thanks to those who have done the same for our upcoming US and Canadian tour. We’ve been rehearsing hard for this and are really pumped about finally getting out on the road again. Hopefully see you soon. Enjoy listening to our album in its entirety, and pre-order if you haven’t already.
